What Is Panchakarma ?

Panchakarma is a Sanskrit word. ‘Pancha’ means five and ‘Karma’ means treatment methods therapeutic measures. Panchakarma can reverse the negative efforts of toxins and restore a natural state of health and wellness by cleansing the body of toxins, restoring balance to the system and improving bodily functions

1. Vaman (Medicated Emesis)
2. Virechan (Medicated Purgation)
3. Nasya (Instilation of Nasal Drops)
4. Basti (Medicated Enema)
5. Raktamokshan (Blood Letting)

 

 

Vaman (Therapeutic vomiting or Emesis therapy)

In this procedure vitiated Doshas are eliminated from the body per oral route.

Vaman means to induce vomiting and it is used for the purification of upper part of the body.

 

 

 

 

Benefits

It is very useful to eliminate the disease caused by excessive kapha. It is very used for psychiatric problems, respiratory congestion, bronchitis, sinusitis, and asthma.

Nasyam (Elimination of toxin through the nose)

Nasyam means procedure by which required medications are introduced through nesl passage either in liquid or powder form. The nose is the doorway to the brain.  The nasal administration of medication is called Nasya.

Basti (Medicated enema therapy)

Basti is purificatory measure which consist of introduction of suiatable medication in the form of enema through rectal route. The object is to eliminate vitiated Doshas with the return of enema material

It is administration of medical decoction, especially herbal oil, medicated milk into colon through rectum.
